Notice Regarding the Disposal of Used Batteries
The following information is intended for those who use batteries or products containing built-in batteries and do not resell them in the form in which they were delivered (end users):
1. Free Return of Used Batteries
Batteries must not be disposed of with household trash. You are legally required to return used batteries to ensure they are disposed of properly. You can return used batteries to a municipal collection point or a local retailer. As a distributor of batteries, we are also obligated to accept used batteries for return, although our obligation is limited to used batteries of the same type that we currently carry or have previously carried in our product range as new batteries. You may therefore either return used batteries of the aforementioned type to us with sufficient postage or drop them off free of charge directly at our distribution center at the address listed in the legal notice.
2. Meaning of Battery Symbols
Batteries are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out trash can (see below). This symbol indicates that batteries must not be disposed of with household waste. For batteries containing more than 0.0005 percent by mass of mercury, more than 0.002 percent by mass of cadmium, or more than 0.004 percent by mass of lead, the chemical designation of the respective hazardous substance is listed below the trash can symbol “Cd” stands for cadmium, “Pb” stands for lead, and “Hg” for mercury.
